Unlike conventional dehydration, freeze-drying uses no heat. The mushroom is frozen solid, then subjected to vacuum pressure. The ice doesn’t melt — it sublimates, transitioning directly from solid to vapor. Every cell wall stays intact. Every active compound stays protected.
The equipment required is expensive and processes only small volumes at a time. That’s the tradeoff for quality this uncompromising. Once dried, each batch goes straight into mylar bags with oxygen absorbers and desiccant packs. Sealed this way, degradation stops cold.
